Wow. After one meal of solids, we are back to my original plan... EBFing for 1 year!! It was great, then it was horrible! We had tried solids at 6 months, just to see how William would do, and No. He refused (it made me really happy, actually). So three weeks later, William just wouldn't stop wanting to eat, but then didn't want to eat. So we tried again. He LOVED IT!!! He gobbled it up, I was not happy anymore. Till the next day, when he finally had his solids poop, bam 2 huge blisters and a massively rashed butt! I found out that my friends little girl went through the same thing when they started her on solids.
So what don't they tell you:
The first couple of solids poops burn your babe's butt! Just a heads up!

Schedules...
It took almost 6 months months before my son had himself on a schedule, and in one weekend all things can go out the door!! I miss it so much!! He would sleep for 10 hours, nurse, sleep for 2 hours, up for 2 hours , Sleep for 2 hours, up for 2, then sleep for 1 hour, up for 3 or 4 hours, bath and then nurse to sleep (anywhere from 1/2 an hour to 3 hours...). I loved it, wish he could get back to this!! How long is it going to take??

Sleep Training.
I am a mom with internet access. I am on a board and I talk with my friends via facebook, and something that comes up a lot is Sleep Training. I believe that it is absolutely ridiculous to sleep train before a year, unless (yes unless) you work full time or part time in the mornings. Let your child grow without interfering with how your child sleeps.
I have heard (please do not flame me if not true) that Crying It Out can actually be harmful for a baby's brain (emotional) development. Why would I do this to my son?? Although we do bed-share, we put our son in his PnP at first, we found he sleeps longer this way and then we bring him into our bed for the rest of the night. He usually gets a good stretch of sleep in before he wakes up. Although he did sleep better right after we brought him home, which I was thankful for for my recovery.
I feel like I need to post a disclosure: I believe in natural parenting. Let the child lead. Feed on demand, no CIO (I do nurse to sleep), babywear, cloth diaper, EBF. I know that not all families can live this way, but I believe that those who can, should. Also please save Sleep Training till at least 6 months, I know they can say you can start at 3 (and sadly I know people who have started with newborns). Give your baby some time to grow and develop before you start.

New Mom Here!
Hey there! New Mommy here! As of September 3, 2012 (Labor Day, I know, how ironic) my hubby and I were blessed with our first child, a little boy. We have been extremely blessed by our son.
I have been trying to blog now for 5 years, but have decided to start a new blog with a different approach. That every day journey of life, like all the other mommy blogs out there, I get it.
